Tread Powerfully®
has helped me get back in shape
post pregnancy, TWICE! It also helped me stay in shape during
pregnancy. At TP, I was able to keep up my speed walking as well as
incorporating some light weights. TP offers two different speed classes
on Tuesday and Thursday mornings so as I became bigger through my
pregnancy I was able to move to the slower group but still maintain my
activity.
The instructors, Sue and Lisa, were great; they
always made
me feel welcome and checked in with me regularly to make sure I was
okay with the activity. If ever needed, they would modify something for
me. Keeping up my muscle tone during pregnancy helped me post-baby with
my metabolism and made it easier for my body to shed the extra weight.
As soon as my body felt ready, I was able to get back out there with
the
TP classes, since I could bring my stroller along to class.
The women
in the classes are fabulous too. The women always make me feel welcome
with my stroller or baby belly and always show an interest in me and my
growing family. After a few classes you feel like you are exercising
with a bunch of friends. I have always been an athlete and into
exercise and I have to say that TP has been one of the best workout
regimes I have ever done. You get a full body muscle work out, cardio
and at a low impact, so it is less straining to the body, while having
a
good time and getting fresh air. I would recommend it to anyone.

I’ve always been a very ‘off and on exerciser’,
often ‘off’ for long periods of time. Since beginning with Tread
Powerfully® seven
months ago, my life is very different! I’ve been loving working out as
often as five times a week, even in pouring rain or below 0C
temperatures. Sue is a truly inspiring leader - encouraging each of us
to be our best in body and in spirit. All classes (Sue's and
Lisa's) are motivating, challenging and fun, and the beautiful weekend
sunrises stay with me all week, helping me to feel calm and energized
all at once. I’ve never been more fit and strong, nor felt calmer or
more centred in everything I do. The icing on the cake (no calories!)
is how much I love all the amazing, lovely new friends I’ve made as we
groan together along the way! I have to say that my ‘life gets better
after 50 plan’ is really working!

We committed to start Tread Powerfully®
this spring, and have by no means looked back. My husband had a tender
lower spine that troubled him on a daily basis. But since attending the
one-hour Saturday morning classes, the tenderness is long gone. This
exciting concept of combining cardio with weight training has given us
a renewed energy we never anticipated. Sue’s hands-on
motivational leadership and expertise compels us to ‘push ourselves to
the max’. By the time we're 50, we’re going to be at our very

You know you are addicted to an exercise program
when you lace up your runners, and get out there despite a torrential
downpour! Not only is Sue an inspiring coach and leader, but
it feels GREAT! In the nine weeks that we’ve participated, we
are reveling in our increased muscle tone, stamina and
energy. But the ultimate benefit is the mood
booster. Both of us have arrived on occasion at class in a
horribly grumpy mood, kicked each other’s butts into gear, and have
left (the class) feeling like we could conquer the
world. Finally, there is the social aspect of working out in a
safe and really fun environment. This is the most rewarding
exercise regime that we’ve experienced. Sue has reminded us of
what our bodies and minds are capable of doing, and this makes us
powerful forces to be reckoned with in our personal and professional
lives.

This summer I joined Sue’s Tread Powerfully®
group. At first, I could not complete the one-hour power-walk
with weights. Twelve weeks later, together with a
portion-controlled diet, not only was I able to complete the program,
but I have lost 30 pounds. Recently, along with some other
members of the group, I entered a 5 km race, and placed first in my
age-group! Thank you, Sue, for the motivation and excellent
instruction.
