Sue Abell,
creator of Tread Powerfully™,
is a fitness instructor and personal trainer with an honours degree in
English, and fitness certifications from the YMCA and Can-Fit-Pro.
Sue taught fitness classes throughout
University, and after a
10-year international business career, returned to Canada… and to her
passion for exercise. Sue has instructed at various clubs during her
fitness career and in addition to her current fitness business, is
instructing a Cardio Challenge class and training clients at the YMCA.
In the winter of 2006, Sue launched Abell
Bodies, an in-home
personal training business. The following spring, she introduced a new
indoor/outdoor fitness concept entitled Tread Powerfully™. The valuable
experience gained as a working mother, runner, and trainer, has led Sue
to the understanding that exercise needs to be varied, and able to fit
one’s lifestyle.
Sue’s mantra: “INtense and OUT in an hour”,
tells participants that
during one of her classes, they will use a variety of deliberate and
controlled movements that will engage every muscle group, increase
heart rates, and still be adaptable for all fitness levels and ages.

Lisa Wayland
is a Group Fitness and Cycle Instructor with a BA in Sociology, and
fitness certifications with Can-Fit-Pro and Cycle Reebok.
Lisa became very active and took part in a
regular exercise program
following the birth of her second son in 2001. Her belief that
a
“Happy Mommy = Happy Children” is what motivated her and her children
to make the daily trip to the gym.
Four years ago, Lisa participated in her
first indoor cycle class
and was immediately hooked. Two years later she was certified
to
teach cycle, and has been doing so regularly with continued energy and
excitement.
In 2007, at the age of 38, Lisa achieved a
personal goal by becoming
certified as a Fitness Instructor Specialist, and just this past
summer, she completed her SPIN Pilates certification.
Lisa met Sue at the fitness club where they
were both
instructors. When Sue first introduced Tread Powerfully™ (TP)
on
the indoor treadmill, Lisa quickly added it to her fitness routine
believing firmly in the concept and its benefits. Having
completed her TP training with Sue, Lisa is now a qualified TP
instructor. Along with her valuable experience, Lisa also
brings
the kind of energy and enthusiasm necessary to guide TP participants
through their one-hour class effectively, while enabling them to
thoroughly enjoy it, and achieve results.
